Four research centres will cooperate to establish the CYBER SCIENCE Silesian Centre for Legal Engineering, Technology and Digital Competence. The innovative unit will combine research and teaching at: the University of Silesia, the University of Economics in Katowice, the Silesian University of Technology and the Research and Academic Computer Network \u2013 National Research Institute (NASK). The agreement will be signed on 6 December 2021 at 4.30 p.m. during the UN Digital Summit. The document will be signed by: Rector of the University of Silesia Prof. Ryszard Kozio\u0142ek, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Eng. Arkadiusz M\u0119\u017cyk, Rector of the University of Economics in Katowice Prof. Celina Olszak and the director of NASK, Wojciech Pawlak.<\/p>\n

The scope of scientific cooperation (joint research projects) and didactic cooperation (postgraduate studies, and over time lectures for students as well) will include such issues as: cybersecurity, LegalTech, FintTech, Digital Economy, AI (artificial intelligence), blockchain, electronic identification. As a result, classes at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia on, for example, the legal aspects of AI can be enriched with lectures on the technological approach to AI by scientists from the Silesian University of Technology and lectures by NASK specialists in the field of AI certification and its use in counteracting attacks in cyberspace.<\/p>\n

The Centre also intends to promote the introduction of new technologies at universities and to teach students how to use them. Students of the Faculty of Law and Administration will be able to develop in the field of contract encoding in a smart contract, they will also learn about the issues related to the risks of Internet addiction. University of Technology students, on the other hand, will be able to learn about the legal aspects of technology and related limitations, as well as learn how applications can negatively affect children.<\/p>\n

The activities of the Centre will be based on the experience of professionals on the market, not only scientists. The education will be enriched with practical aspects and a business perspective.<\/p>\n

The newly created unit will combine interdisciplinary science, technology, academia and business. The centre is to be available to all students simultaneously, therefore its activity is mainly related to functioning in cyberspace.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]\r\n
