\r\n \r\n \r\n We design and research virtual environments for various purposes and promote knowledge in the field of digital culture. We want to check the limits of communication with flat images, animations and virtual spaces using technologies such as: 3D, AR, VR, and holography.<\/p>\n
We combine artistic creativity with scientific research. We cooperate with the creative industries and academic centres from Europe, Asia and America. We develop and research artistic and educational games, as well as\u00a0serious games. Our interests lie in experimental activities as well as art and science research projects at the interface between art, science, and traditional and digital technology.<\/p>\n
We look forward to working with artists, researchers, students, PhD students, graduates, and representatives of creative industries from around the world. We combine artistic and technical competencies, modern digital technologies and a humanistic view of interaction, narrative, identity, and perception with social responsibility.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>
<\/div><\/div>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n The Game Lab Design Centre was established as a continuation of the project \u201eGame Lab Design Centre \u2013 International Laboratory for Game Studies and Design.\u201d The realisation of the project involved students, artists, and scientists representing seven universities: The University of Silesia in Katowice (the project leader), the Northern Illinois University School of Art (USA), Harz University of Applied Sciences (Germany), University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), LUCA School of Arts (Belgium), Tokyo University of Technology (Japan) and the Benem\u00e9rita Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Puebla (Mexico).<\/p>\n
Together, we have created an international lab, which develops and researches games. It is one of the most dynamically developing and unique fields of artistic and academic activity. The core of this initiative is the International Game Lab Challenge, international workshops for students working in teams under the supervision of 14 great mentors from partner universities from all around the world. Each team had one task: develop a game, along with its history, mechanics, sound, graphics, and music.<\/p>\n
