{"id":1213,"date":"2021-10-19T12:11:37","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T10:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/us.edu.pl\/centra-badawcze\/opmim\/?p=1213"},"modified":"2022-02-08T13:34:04","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T12:34:04","slug":"konferencja-metropolitalna-10-lutego-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/us.edu.pl\/centra-badawcze\/opmim\/en\/2021\/10\/19\/konferencja-metropolitalna-10-lutego-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"[ONLINE] Metropolitan Conference 10th February 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The Observatory of Urban and Metropolitan Processes is pleased to invite you to the international scientific online conference <strong>\u201cMetropolitan Perspectives for a Better Urban Future &#8211; Ideas, Residents, Institutions\u201d, <\/strong>organised in cooperation with the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>DATE:<\/strong> <strong>10th February 2022\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>PLACE: Kazimierz Lepszy Auditorium, University of Silesia in Katowice (speakers), ZOOM platform (online attendees)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You will be able to take part in the discussion during the Q&amp;A sessions. The event will be translated simultaneously into English and Polish on Zoom and broadcast in the original language on the YouTube channel of the University of Silesia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The aim of the conference is to create opportunities for researchers, members of the Metropolitan Scientific Network and the academic community, representing various scientific disciplines and research approaches, to discuss various challenges facing metropolitan areas: climate issues and those related to the search for new models of living, working, and generating resources that would reduce the negative impact on the environment, and at the same time allow inhabitants to maintain a high quality of life, also in crisis situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference also aims to disseminate the latest research results carried out by researchers representing universities and research institutes from Poland and abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The conference keynote speakers are:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">prof. Mariona Tom\u00e0s Forn\u00e9s (Barcelona, Spain)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">prof. Eric Champagne (Ottawa, Canada)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">prof.
