The agreement between University of Silesia and IBM Polska S.A. has been signed on October 11th, in Katowice. Many significant guests were present, among them: Adam Matusiewicz, Marchal of the Silesian Voivodeship, vice-rectyors: prof. Mirosław Nakonieczny, prof. Andrzej Kowalczyk, prof. Stanisław Kucharski. Signatories of the agreement were: prof. Wiesław Banyś, rector of the University of Silesia and Romuald Gacka, director of the IBM Polska S.A. branch in Katowice.
Mutual cooperation has been established to improve the competitiveness of University of Silesia on the Polish academic stage, and to enable participation of the students in IBM students practice.
