Accessibility of the entrance to the building and control area

Entrance to Student Residence Hall no. 3 is marked with a red board with the inscription saying „Uniwersytet Śląski, Dom Studenta nr 3 w Sosnowcu”.

The main entrance to the building is located on ul. Sucha 7 b, near the Faculty of Natural Sciences (the faculty is located at ul. Będzińska, on the northern side of the Teacher Residence Hall, approximately 400 m away). The entrance is accessed through stairs.

The entrance to the building with a ramp for wheelchairs is located on the left side of the building, on the western side. The ramp has a length of 10 m and 28 cm. It is made of deck grating. The ramp handrail is installed at a height of 110 cm, while the ramp width is 120 cm.

Upon entering the building, on the left side, there is a reception desk opened 24 hours a day. The reception desk window is located at a height of 93 cm.

In order to enter the building hall, you have to open the second door (the door with a door closer is opened by a receptionist). The staircase is located opposite the entrance door.

Accessibility of corridors, stairs and elevators

The building is five-storey. There is no lift.

On the ground floor there is a porter’s lodge, utility rooms, guest rooms and 4 rooms with facilities for students with disabilities. On the other floors there are student rooms.

Types of adjustments inside the building

In the rooms for students with disabilities there are holders and emergency support systems.

Bathrooms assigned to these rooms have adjustments for people with disabilities: holders near the toilet, shower, shower without thresholds, shower chair, as well as proper space for manuevering and changing.

There are spacious kitchens near the rooms, which enable free movement in the premises.
