16th lecture of Prof. Andrzej Lasota series

On Friday, 13 January 2023 at 3.30 p.m. in the auditorium of Kazimierz Lepszy in the Rectorate of the University of Silesia in Katowice, the 16th lecture of Prof. Andrzej Lasota series will take place.

The event will include a reading ‘A Fourier analysis based new look at integration’, which will be delivered by Prof. Peter Imkeller (Humboldt Universität, Institut für Mathematik, Berlin).

The Prof. Andrzej Lasota lecture series is a cyclical event established in 2008 by the Council of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (currently the Faculty of Science and Technology) to celebrate the person and work of Prof. Andrzej Lasota.

Prof. Andrzej Lasota, who passed away on 28 December 2006, wasd an outstanding mathematician, a long-time employee of the Institute of Mathematics of the University of Silesia, honorary doctor of the University of Silesia, a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and an active member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences.

As part of the annual meetings, scholars with unquestionable achievements in the field of the theory or application of exact sciences are invited to deliver a lecture.
