“Oceans Apart. In Search of New Wor(l)ds”, 6th World Congress of the International American Studies Association is now taking place in Szczecin.
The event is dedicated to the transoceanic studies of Western culture in its literary, historical, political and economic aspects. It is organized by IASA in conjunction with the Institute of English Cultures and Literatures of the University of Silesia in Katowice and the English Department of the University of Szczecin.
The present edition of the IASA World Congress is a part of an international festival of friendship: the Grand Finale
of the Tall Ships Races 2013, held under the auspices of the City of Szczecin, Poland.
The Honorary Patron of our Event is the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Bronisław Komorowski.
