\u201eHuman being and microorganisms\u201d is the leading theme of Biologists\u2019 Night 2021. We are invited to the magical world of natural sciences, joint discoveries and academic discussions by the organiser of the Katowice edition – Institute of Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Protection at the University of Silesia.<\/p>\n
What and when?<\/strong><\/h3>\nOn 8 January you will be able to find out whether it is possible to edit a human genome, why viruses do not live and how bacteria help us in our daily lives, as well as what PCR, a recently hot topic, is. Biologists\u2019 Night at the University of Silesia includes meetings in four thematic panels:<\/p>\n
\n- \u201cWe fight against microorganisms\u201d,<\/li>\n
- \u201eWe need microorganisms\u201d,<\/li>\n
- \u201cMicroorganisms in biotechnology and environmental protection\u201d,<\/li>\n
- as well as \u201cMicroorganisms drive the development of biology\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
What can the participants expect?<\/strong><\/h3>\nA scientific feast, dynamic tale, and meetings with scientists. Several lectures, workshops and shows, surprises and competitions with prizes have been prepared for them. Participation in the event is also the possibility to get to know employees of the Institute of Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Protection at the University of Silesia. An opportunity to look into laboratories and workrooms, and to find out the results of conducted research.<\/p>\n
The slogan of the upcoming edition, so up-to-date in the context of the current epidemiological situation, encourages to obtain proven and reliable knowledge in the field of biological sciences, and get to know this beautiful and mysterious world.<\/p>\n
