We cannot be indifferent to the events bothering our minds since 24 February. Thus, we have decided to change the topic of the 17th meeting of the Scientific Premiere Stage. On this Thursday, our guest will be Prof. Barbara Miko\u0142ajczyk, the Deputy Director of the Institute of Law, talking about the challenges of accepting foreigners.<\/p>\n
The topic is extremely significant due to the tragedy taking place across our Eastern border and the challenges we will be inevitably facing. Although the Polish seem to pass the test of humanity with flying colours by preparing and engaging in numerous charity and fundraising activities for people who had to flee from war-torn Ukraine, we all forecast that the real test is yet to come. Our neighbours will ask for help and should provide them with aid and shelter.<\/p>\n
The meeting will be an opportunity to talk with an expert about the probable scenarios for the nearest future, potential problems, and possible solutions to them.<\/p>\n
Be with us in front of your screens on 3 March 2022 at 6.00 p.m. The event will be broadcast via the University of Silesia\u2019s YouTube Channel and Facebook. Our viewers can actively participate in the talk by asking questions, sharing their concerns, and expressing their opinions.<\/p>\n
The talk will be hosted by the well-known journalists Ewa Niewiadomska and Jaros\u0142aw Juszkiewicz.<\/p>\n
The event will be translated into Polish sign language.<\/p>\n
