An inaugural meeting for the educational project Kopalnia Wiedzy [Knowledge Mine] of the Jastrz\u0119bska Sp\u00f3\u0142ka W\u0119glowa (JSW) implemented in cooperation with scientists from the University of Silesia took place on 8 June 2022.<\/p>\n

On the side of the University of Silesia, the event attended: Prof. Ryszard Kozio\u0142ek, Rector of the University of Silesia, Dariusz Laska, Vice-Chancellor for Development and Industry Cooperation, Izabela Staszewska-Ferens, Director of Open University at the University of Silesia in Katowice, \u0141ukasz Chajec, PhD, Project Coordinator, Joanna Fory\u015b, PhD, Coordinator of the Education and Research Team Unibot, Katarzyna Papie\u017c-Pawe\u0142czak, President of SPIN-SPIN-US Sp. z o.o., Maria Kwarci\u0144ska, Head of the Industry Cooperation Office, Monika Pluta from the Industry Cooperation Office, and Ma\u0142gorzata Poszwa, Spokesperson of the University of Silesia. Jastrz\u0119bska Sp\u00f3\u0142ka W\u0119glowa was represented by: Tomasz Cudny, President of the Board, Artur Wojtk\u00f3w, Vice-President of the Board for Work and Social Policy, Agnieszka Barzycka-Noga, PhD, Head of the Social Responsibility of Business Team, and Adam Grzesik from the Social Responsibility of Business Team.<\/p>\n

The project constitutes a cycle of workshops combined with demonstrations of experiments for elementary school and high school students, and training sessions for the teaching staff and parents of the project participants. The aim of the activities taking place under the project is the promotion of natural and exact sciences among young people. The workshops will be conducted at the University of Silesia in Katowice.<\/p>\n
