On 13 February 2024, an online training \u2018Artificial intelligence (AI) in the activities of a researcher \u2013 a review of tools\u2019 will be held as part of the Entrepreneur project (Entrepreneurial Preparation for Notable and Engaging Universities) implemented thanks to the EIT HEI Initiative programme.<\/p>\n

This project aims to support European universities in becoming more entrepreneurial and innovative. According to its assumptions, the programme seeks to develop the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation at the university through activities aimed at the academic community \u2013 students, research and administrative staff.<\/p>\n

The training is scheduled from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. on the GoogleMeet platform. The link to the meeting will provided after registration confirmation.<\/p>\n

Part I \u2013 AI tools and writing publications<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Is AI just ChatGPT?<\/li>\n
  2. How to search for AI tools yourself?<\/li>\n
  3. Basic rules for \u201ccooperation\u201d with AI, i.e. how to use it correctly so as not to be disappointed and not to waste time.<\/li>\n
  4. An overview of the most important AI tools related to writing: how to write an article using AI (from idea to text)?<\/li>\n
  5. How to do it ethically and so as not to harm yourself, i.e. when AI is a good tool and when does our work stop being ours?<\/li>\n
  6. How to detect plagiarism using AI?<\/li>\n
  7. How to find out if a given article was written using AI \u2013 tools.<\/li>\n
  8. Linguistic tools, i.e. translation, proofreading, proposing appropriate formulations, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Part II \u2013 AI tools for organising, summarising and searching for esources
    \nScientific AI search engines.<\/p>\n

    1. AI-based bibliography managers.<\/li>\n
    2. AI assistants that help you find and cite sources, summarise publications, create outlines, explain links between concepts, explain the cause and effect of phenomena, etc.<\/li>\n
    3. Literature reviews \u2013 how to make your life easier using AI tools.<\/li>\n
    4. Tools for selecting journals suitable for our publications.<\/li>\n
    5. Tools that adapt the manuscript to the requirements of a given publisher.<\/li>\n
    6. Citation formatting tools.<\/li>\n
    7. Tools for turning articles into audiobooks.<\/li>\n
    8. Transcription tools.<\/li>\n
    9. Video summarisation tools.<\/li>\n
    10. Tools for managing web resources (for example, summarising web pages).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Part III \u2013 AI tools for writing grant applications and AI-based tools for managing research teams<\/p>\n

      1. Tools to help prepare a draft of an application.<\/li>\n
      2. (AI) tools for project management, or how to automate routine tasks, improve communication and simplify work?<\/li>\n
      3. How to prevent delays, optimise resources and complete projects on time?<\/li>\n
      4. Tools with the option of a digital assistant that \u201cindependently\u201d delegates tasks and manages projects.<\/li>\n
      5. Other functionalities of the tools discussed and their weaknesses.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The meeting will be led by Piotr Siuda, PhD, DLitt \u2013 professor at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences of the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz. He is interested in the social aspects of the Internet, game studies, e-sports, the use of AI in research activities. He is a coordinator of a number of research projects, currently leading the project of the National Science Centre OPUS 22 entitled \u2018Rhizome networks, circulation of meanings and content, and offline contexts of online drug trafficking\u2019.<\/p>\n
