\u201cWhat grades did you get today?\u201d, \u201cDid you get into any trouble?\u201d \u2013 these are the questions we often ask children when they come back from school. Maybe it\u2019s worth asking what they learned today, what they talked about with their friends, what websites they visited, who they met online?<\/p>\n
On 23 April 2024 in the Korez Theatre gallery at 10.00 a.m. a lecture will take place entitled \u2018O dzieciach, nastolatkach i zjawiskach internetowych\u2019 (\u2018On children, teenagers and Internet phenomena\u2019)organised by the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice as part of the project: \u201cScience is everywhere!\u201d.<\/p>\n
The meeting will be led by Tomasz Huk, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. and Anna Brosch, PhD from the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Silesia. Researchers will describe the phenomenon of PIU, defined as the abuse of the Internet or its dysfunctional use, leading to inappropriate behaviour, addictions, pathologies or even mental disorders.<\/p>\n
The event is addressed to all interested parties. Free admission.<\/p>\n
The lecture is carried out as part of the celebration of the European City of Science Katowice 2024, in the City-Region-Academia stream.<\/p>\n
The event is co-financed by the Silesian Voivodeship.<\/p>\n
