On Monday, 14 October 2024 at 12.00 p.m. at the Silesian Theatre in Katowice, the gala of the 2nd edition of the Professor J\u00f3zef Pieter Award will be held.<\/p>\n
During the ceremony, the finalists of the second edition of the competition will be presented and the winner will be announced, receiving a cash prize of PLN 20,000, funded by the Prof. J\u00f3zef Pieter Foundation.<\/p>\n

- Marta Florkiewicz-Borkowska, teacher at the Karol Miarka Primary School in Pielgrzymowice,<\/li>\n
- Katarzyna Kurpi\u0144ska, teacher at the Special School Complex at the Neurosis Therapy Centre for Children and Youth in Orzesze,<\/li>\n
- Andrzej Mazur, teacher at the Adam Mickiewicz 3rd Secondary School in Katowice,<\/li>\n
- Anna Mucha, teacher at the \u2018Klasa dla ASA\u2019 Private Primary School in Wodzis\u0142aw \u015al\u0105ski and Radlin,<\/li>\n
- Grzegorz Rzeszutek, teacher at the Jan Smole\u0144 1st Secondary School in Bytom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

The gala will be enriched with music performances by students of the winner of the 1st edition of the award, Mrs. Halina Pospiesza\u0142owska, and violinist Elias David Moncado, the youngest winner of 1 Grand Prix and 10 special prizes at the Karol Lipi\u0144ski International Competition in Poland in 2019.<\/p>\n
The Professor J\u00f3zef Pieter Award is presented annually to an outstanding teacher who works in a primary or secondary school in the Silesian Voivodeship. It is awarded to individuals whose work demonstrates the fundamental importance of education for the development of children and young people; who effectively share their love of knowledge, combine the qualities and skills of outstanding subject teachers and committed educators; are open-minded, tolerant and fair, thus presenting attitudes and values close to the patron of the award, Professor J\u00f3zef Pieter.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the openness and cooperation of the Prof. J\u00f3zef Pieter Foundation, the University of Silesia and the Metropolis GZM, it is the only distinction in Poland awarded to teachers by a non-governmental organisation, a university and a local government organisation.<\/p>\n
