On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Silesia, Prof. Ryszard Kozio\u0142ek, the Rector of the University of Silesia, invites you to Silesia \u2013 New Eden<\/em>, an academic concert featuring a multimedia presentation.<\/em> The event will take place on Friday, 13 June at 6.00 p.m., in the Concert Hall of Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.<\/strong><\/p>\nSilesia \u2013 New Eden<\/em> is an interdisciplinary event that combines music, visual arts and modern technology to present an artistic narrative about the transformation of Silesia. It tells the story of a region that has undergone a dynamic transformation \u2013 from an industrial past to the modern hub of culture, science and sustainability. This metamorphosis has its own symbol: the tragic fate of the Rawa River, which has become the backbone of an allegory about nature\u2014its degradation caused by human activity and, ultimately, its restoration.<\/p>\nThe concert is a perfect opportunity to listen to music by Samuel Barber and Karl Jenkins and the premiere of Hortus Urbis by <\/em>composer Thomas Fortmann, accompanied by an animation by Prof. Ma\u0142gorzata \u0141uszczak.
