Who will take up the challenge and show that science can be discussed in a clear and engaging way? We invite young researchers to take part in the 9th Silesian edition of the Three Minute Thesis\u00ae 2026 competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Three Minute Thesis\u00ae is a competition in scientific communication, during which participants present the topics of their doctoral theses. Each participant\u2019s presentation lasts 3 minutes \u2013 during this time, they must present scientific topics in a precise and understandable manner to an audience outside their field of science. The competition has been organised by the Science Popularization Centre of the Silesian University of Technology since 2017 under licence from the University of Queensland in Australia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Participants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Silesian edition of 3MT\u00ae is open to PhD students from universities and branches of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in the Silesian Voivodeship, as well as those undertaking PhD research at the National Oncology Institute in Gliwice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration and schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To enter the competition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polsl.pl\/cpn\/rejestracja-three-minute-thesis\/\">please submit your application via the registration form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>29 October 2026 \u2013 closing date for entries<\/li>\n<li>14 November 2026, Gliwice \u2013 preliminary rounds<\/li>\n<li>27 November 2026, Gliwice \u2013 final<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why take part?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Silesian edition of the Three Minute Thesis\u00ae is a great opportunity to test your communication and public speaking skills, as well as to showcase the scientific and educational potential of Silesian universities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Finalists in the competition have the chance to win attractive cash prizes as well as honours in the form of a special award and an audience award.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the competition rules and how it is organised, please visit the website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polsl.pl\/cpn\/konkurs-three-minute-thesis\/\">https:\/\/www.polsl.pl\/cpn\/konkurs-three-minute-thesis\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The competition is organised by: the Science Popularisation Centre of the Silesian University of Technology, the Doctoral School of the Silesian University of Technology, and the Doctoral Students&#8217; Self-Government Council at the Silesian University of Technology.
