The ceremony will begin at 11:00 in the Kazimierz Popio\u0142ek Hall at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Rector of the University of Silesia and the Senate of the University of Silesia invite you to participate in the inauguration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">The program of the ceremony includes an inaugural speech of the Rector of the University of Silesia prof. dr. hab. Andrzej Kowalczyk, matriculation of students and doctoral students, as well as awarding the title of Honorary Professor of the University of Silesia to: Prof. Alicja Wakulicz-Deja from the Faculty of Computer Science and Materials Science, prof. zw. dr hab. Adam Lity\u0144ski from the Faculty of Law and Administration and Prof. J\u00f3zef Ci\u0105gwa from the Faculty of Law and Administration. The inaugural lecture entitled &#8220;Knowledge is not everything &#8230; About university values and responsibility&#8221; will be delivered by Prof. Wies\u0142aw Bany\u015b.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">As a highlight of the event, the &#8220;Pro Scientia et Arte&#8221; award will be granted to the employees of the University of Silesia for outstanding scientific and artistic achievements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">This important and honourable distinction can be awarded each year to two laureates. For the educational and scientific achievements in\u00a0mathematical, natural and technical sciences the prize will be granted to Prof. Danuta Str\u00f3\u017c of the Faculty of Computer Science and Materials Science and for the achievements in the areas of humanities and arts the person awarded is Prof. Wieslaw Bany\u015b of the Faculty of Philology, the Rector of the University of Silesia in 2008-2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">The event will be broadcasted by the\u00a0Internet Television of the University of Silesia.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<div class=\"content\">\n<p>Inaugurations of the Academic Year 2019\/2020 in the Campuses of the Unviersity of Silesia:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Campus in Chorz\u00f3w:<br \/>\n8th October 2019, at 11:00am in Silesian Centre\u00a0for Education and\u00a0Interdisciplinary\u00a0Research.<\/li>\n<li>Campus in Cieszyn:<br \/>\n9th October 2019, at 11:00am in Auditorium of the Faculty of \u00a0Arts and Educational Science\u00a0(Cieszyn, ul.
