This time we celebrated the start of the 2025\/2026 academic year. One of the most important events in Silesia&#8217;s academic calendar took place at the headquarters of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice (NOSPR) and, as every year, was preceded by a march of Rector&#8217;s retinues through the streets of Katowice.<br \/>\nThe programme also included a science town on the market square in Katowice, debates and artistic performances by academic groups. The inaugural lecture was given by Professor Jerzy Buzek.
