In this year\u2019s edition, twelve finalists representing universities and research institutes from across Poland took on the challenge of presenting scientific topics in just three minutes, in a way that is understandable, engaging and inspiring to a wide audience.<\/p>\n<p>Following the final talks, the jury selected the winners of the competition:<\/p>\n<p><strong>First prize<\/strong> was awarded to <strong>Tomas Senda, MSc<\/strong>, <strong>the Research and Academic Computer Network \u2013 National Research Institute (NASK),<\/strong> for his presentation \u2018The Prism of Culture: Can Artificial Intelligence see our identity?\u2019 A researcher specialising in natural language processing, multilingualism and large language models highlighted the role of AI in preserving linguistic and cultural diversity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second prize<\/strong> went to <strong>Dagmara Stasiowska, PhD Eng.<\/strong>, <strong>AGH University of Krak\u00f3w<\/strong>, for her presentation \u2018Our new home\u2019. She introduced the topic of space biology and the challenges associated with future human life beyond Earth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Third prize<\/strong> went to <strong>Piotr Falkowski, PhD Eng<\/strong>., <strong>\u0141ukasiewicz Research Network \u2013 PIAP<\/strong>, for his presentation \u2018Robots and AI \u2013 the physiotherapists of tomorrow\u2019. He focused on modern technologies that support rehabilitation, including medical robotics and solutions utilising artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomas Senda, MA<\/strong>\u2014the winner of the national final\u2014will also represent Poland at the FameLab International.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s final showcased the remarkable diversity of modern science. The group of other finalists were:\u00a0<strong>Angelika \u017burawska, MSc<\/strong>\u00a0(University of Opole); Lipoprotein(a): the hidden code of heart risk written in your genes;\u00a0<strong>Anna Wolny, PhD Eng.\u00a0 <\/strong>(Silesian University of Technology) \u2013 Molecular selection: How nature designs medicines;\u00a0<strong>Juliusz Chojenka, PhD Eng.<\/strong>\u00a0(Institute of Nuclear Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences, Krak\u00f3w) \u2013 What is a memristor anyway?;\u00a0<strong>Karima Afandi, MSc<\/strong>\u00a0(Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru\u0144) \u2013 Your face has tenants? Demodex and the red face mystery; <strong>Mariya Mathew, MSc<\/strong>\u00a0(University of Silesia in Katowice) \u2013 When drugs don\u2019t reach their target: Unlocking their hidden potential;\u00a0<strong>Marta Sa\u0142ek, MSc Eng.<\/strong>\u00a0(University of Warsaw) \u2013 Unknown life next door;\u00a0<strong>Martyna Czarnomska, MSc<\/strong>\u00a0(University of Gda\u0144sk) \u2013 The light of truth: What fingerprints are hiding from us;\u00a0<strong>Micha\u0142 Kuca\u0142a, MSc Eng.<\/strong>\u00a0(Krak\u00f3w University of Technology) \u2013 Chemistry isn\u2019t so scary: Plant-based and recycled polymers in service of people and the planet; and <strong>Rami Altabbouche, MSc<\/strong>\u00a0(Medical University of Lodz) \u2013 Switching off appetite: How modern medicine rewrites hunger.<\/p>\n<p>FameLab Poland 2026 Final is not merely a competition but also a true celebration of science and science communication. The finalists proved that it is possible to present even the most complex topics in a simple and entertaining way\u2014ranging from artificial intelligence and space technology to medicine, biology, physics, and chemistry.<\/p>\n<p>The event was also an opportunity to award prizes in the competition for the best BA, MA and Engineering thesis dedicated to metropolitan topics; the competition is organised by the Metropolis GZM.<\/p>\n<p>The FameLab Poland is organised by the University of Silesia, together with the Academic Consortium \u2013 Katowice City of Science.
