Polish edition of Heimskringla<\/em> by Snorri Sturluson<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Members of the Centre have embarked on a collaboration on the Polish translation of one of the most important monuments of Icelandic literature. Heimskringla<\/em> is a collection of 16 sagas devoted to Norwegian rulers from the so-called legendary times to the mid-twelfth century. It was written around 1230 by Snorri Sturluson, an Icelandic politician, poet and historiographer. The translation of the opus is financed by the grant of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities. The head of the project is Anna Wa\u015bko, Associate Professor of the Jagiellonian University. The Polish edition of Heimskringla<\/em> is planned to be published in 2021.<\/p>\n

Dissemination of the Latin Conceptual Metaphors in Old Norse-Icelandic literature as a Cognitive Manifestation of Christianization and Europeanization of Medieval Scandinavia<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The project is financed by the National Science Centre funds (PRELUDIUM 14 programme, grant no. 2017\/27\/N\/HS3\/00740) and is carried out at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia from 19 July 2018 to 18 July 2022. The research project is led by Dr Grzegorz Bartusik.<\/p>\n
