{"id":224961,"date":"2025-05-08T13:17:02","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T11:17:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/us.edu.pl\/?page_id=224961"},"modified":"2025-09-30T10:40:30","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T08:40:30","slug":"atak-terrorystyczny","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/us.edu.pl\/en\/bezpieczenstwo\/atak-terrorystyczny\/","title":{"rendered":"Terrorist attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column]\r\n                <div class=\"text-modules\">\r\n                    <div class=\"container\">\r\n                        <h3 class=\"page-title text__title\">Terrorist attack<\/h3>\r\n                        <div class=\"text-modules__content\"><\/p>\n<p>Notify the facility <a href=\"https:\/\/us.edu.pl\/en\/bezpieczenstwo\/dane-kontaktowe\/\">administrator or security,<\/a> who will inform the appropriate services about the emergency.<br \/>\nYou can also notify the appropriate services directly by calling <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>emergency number 112<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the event of a terrorist attack, always remember the following 4 rules:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>BE VIGILANT! PAY ATTENTION TO:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>unusual events\/changes in your surroundings;<\/li>\n<li>unnatural\/alarming behaviours of a person\/persons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>RUN! \u2013 if you hear gunshots, explosions, etc.:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>leave your belongings (do not waste time on activities that may slow down your escape);<\/li>\n<li>help others escape if possible and if it does not slow down your escape;<\/li>\n<li>if possible, prevent other people from entering the danger area;<\/li>\n<li>once you are safe, call the emergency number 112 and notify the security service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>HIDE! \u2013 if you can&#8217;t run away:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>hide out of the attacker\u2019s sight;<\/li>\n<li>close and lock the door to the place where you are hiding;<\/li>\n<li>turn off the lights;<\/li>\n<li>put your phone on silent mode, turn off vibrations and stay silent;<\/li>\n<li>remove any rattling, rustling objects and\/or clothing;<\/li>\n<li>try to calm your breathing;<\/li>\n<li>if you hear gunshots, lie on the floor away from doors and windows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>STOP THE ATTACK! \u2013 fight only when there is no other option and your life depends on it:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>try to overpower the attacker, use the element of surprise, cooperate with other people;<\/li>\n<li>act with as much physical aggression as possible;<\/li>\n<li>improvise when it comes to your weapons, use whatever you have at hand (pencil, heel of a shoe, laptop, heavy objects, etc.). Remember that anything can become your weapon!;<\/li>\n<li>the most important thing is the surprise factor;<\/li>\n<li>if you decide to fight, be motivated and confident in your actions \u2013 your life depends on it!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Course of action in a hostage situation.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you failed to escape or hide and were taken hostage by terrorists, follow these rules:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>follow the terrorists&#8217; orders;<\/li>\n<li>don&#8217;t resist \u2013 it can only make your situation worse. Your goal is to survive, wait for rescue action;<\/li>\n<li>stay calm, do not panic, do not draw attention to yourself;<\/li>\n<li>if the attackers demand it, hand over your personal belongings;<\/li>\n<li>avoid prolonged contact with attackers, it may trigger their aggressive response;<\/li>\n<li>answer questions, but do not discuss\/argue with attackers, especially on political, religious or ideological topics;<\/li>\n<li>if you have any need (getting a drink, food, using the toilet), ask the attackers for it, but in case of refusal, do not react emotionally;<\/li>\n<li>try to remember as many details as possible \u2013 your statements may help the Police in further actions;<\/li>\n<li>do not block attackers&#8217; escape routes;<\/li>\n<li>do not help the attackers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We encourage you to read the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rzKH3dok98Q\">rules of conduct in a hostage situation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Rules of conduct during the release of hostages by emergency services:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>try to stay calm, lie down on the floor and try to find some cover, keep your hands on your head until the end of the operation;<\/li>\n<li>do not hide your hands under any circumstances, emergency services will try to identify people in possession of firearms in order to neutralise them;<\/li>\n<li>the emergency service officers do not know who the perpetrator is, everyone will be overpowered and handcuffed, you should submit to this and not hinder the officers\u2019 work;<\/li>\n<li>listen to the orders and instructions of the counterterrorist group and do not waste their time asking unnecessary questions;<\/li>\n<li>do not rub your eyes or swallow saliva if tear gas is used;<\/li>\n<li>do not escape from the facility until you are ordered to leave, an escape attempt may be met with a violent reaction;<\/li>\n<li>when the emergency services provide appropriate information, leave as soon as possible, do not stop to take your personal belongings, there is always a risk of explosion or fire;<\/li>\n<li>provide officers with information about the perpetrators, even seemingly insignificant information that may help identify them or indicate where weapons or explosives are hidden;<\/li>\n<li>do not record with your phone in a dangerous situation \u2013 your life and health are much more valuable;<\/li>\n<li>during police activities, do not provide information about the emergency services\u2019 activities via social media.
