The Research Centre for Stuttering and Cluttering was established as a response to the need to coordinate interdisciplinary research on stuttering and cluttering. Its activities encompass linguistic, sociocultural, and psychopedagogical analyses, allowing for a comprehensive description of these phenomena.<\/p>\n
<\/a> The Centre guides the development and implementation of innovative preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic solutions, with particular emphasis on speech therapy practice. The unit implements the goals of the University of Silesia Strategy for 2020\u20132025, aligning with Priority Research Areas 1 and 4 in addition to strengthening the University\u2019s research and infrastructure potential.<\/p>\n The Centre\u2019s research focuses on the aetiology of stuttering and cluttering, encompassing neurobiological, genetic, psychological, social, and environmental factors, as well as the development of modern diagnostic and therapeutic methods. The linguistic, social, and cultural aspects of the disorders in question are also important areas of the Centre\u2019s activity, including the issue of stigma, the narratives of stutterers, and cross-cultural differences in access to therapy.<\/p>\n The Centre develops innovative methods to support well-being and quality of life, utilising technologies such as mobile applications, e-learning, VR, and AI.
