{"id":115772,"date":"2019-12-16T10:03:54","date_gmt":"2019-12-16T09:03:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/us.edu.pl\/?p=115772"},"modified":"2019-12-18T11:07:04","modified_gmt":"2019-12-18T10:07:04","slug":"wystapienie-prof-piotra-skubaly-podczas-climate-law-governance-day-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/us.edu.pl\/en\/wystapienie-prof-piotra-skubaly-podczas-climate-law-governance-day-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Prof. Piotr Skuba\u0142a\u2019s Speech at Climate Law &#038; Governance Day 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;]\r\n                <div class=\"text-modules\">\r\n                    <div class=\"container\">\r\n                        \r\n                        <div class=\"text-modules__content\"><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">One of the accompanying events of this year\u2019s Climate Change Conference COP25 organised in Madrid was \u201cClimate Law &amp; Governance Day 2019\u201d \u2013 a symposium on building legal foundations for climate protection efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The event on 6 December 2019 included an expert panel entitled \u201eClimate Protection Problems and Policy Directions from a Post-COP24 Polish Perspective\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The participants presented the activities of NGOs and social movements for combating climate change effects, as well as changes in the Polish climate policy following COP24, which took place in Katowice last year. They also talked about further challenges in this field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Prof. Piotr Skuba\u0142a, PhD from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice, also contributed to the discussion. His speech entitled \u201eIt is time to go beyond just research and publishing\u201d was presented during the symposium. It is an important call for the research community to take immediate and decisive action in order to save our planet.
