{"id":115873,"date":"2019-12-17T15:10:34","date_gmt":"2019-12-17T14:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/us.edu.pl\/?p=115873"},"modified":"2019-12-17T15:24:07","modified_gmt":"2019-12-17T14:24:07","slug":"uniwersytet-slaski-w-programie-uniwersytetow-europejskich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/us.edu.pl\/en\/uniwersytet-slaski-w-programie-uniwersytetow-europejskich\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Silesia in \u201eEuropean Universities\u201d programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column]\r\n                <div class=\"text-modules\">\r\n                    <div class=\"container\">\r\n                        \r\n                        <div class=\"text-modules__content\"><\/p>\n<p>The University of Silesia in Katowice prepares to participate in the second edition of the call for \u201cEuropean Universities\u201d \u2013 transnational alliances of higher education institutions from EU that share a long-time strategy and promote European values and identity.\u00a0The initiative is designed to significantly increase the mobility of students and academic staff, and to support quality improvement, social inclusion and competitiveness of European higher education.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Silesia applies for the funding of a joint European University together with the following universities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Saarland University (Universit\u00e4t des Saarlandes) \u2013 Germany (project coordinator),<\/li>\n<li>University of Alicante (Universidad de Alicante) \u2013 Spain,<\/li>\n<li>University of Trieste (Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Trieste) \u2013 Italy,<\/li>\n<li>Vytautas Magnus University (Vytauto Did\u017eiojo universitetas) \u2013 Lithuania,<\/li>\n<li>Sofia University (\u0421\u043e\u0444\u0438\u0439\u0441\u043a\u0438 \u0443\u043d\u0438\u0432\u0435\u0440\u0441\u0438\u0442\u0435\u0442 \u0421\u0432. \u041a\u043b\u0438\u043c\u0435\u043d\u0442 \u041e\u0445\u0440\u0438\u0434\u0441\u043a\u0438) \u2013 Bulgaria,<\/li>\n<li>Estonian Academy of Arts (Eesti Kunstiakadeemia) \u2013 Estonia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cEuropean Universities\u201d is a flagship initiative of the European Education Area, designed to create joint inter-university campuses. The participating universities are to combine their specialist knowledge, platforms and resources to develop joint curricula or modules covering various disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>The European Universities are mainly expected to prepare and implement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a common integrated long-term education strategy, connected with research, innovations and society at large (where possible),<\/li>\n<li>a joint European inter-university \u201ccampus\u201d,<\/li>\n<li>European knowledge-creating teams (<em>challenge-based approach<\/em>) composed of students and academics, with possible participation of researchers, companies, regional entities and civil society players (depending on the general alliance strategy and vision), adopting a multidisciplinary approach to face the selected social challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The European Universities should also act as models of good practice to further increase the quality, international competitiveness and attractiveness of the European higher education, and become the key element of the European Education Area, promoting excellence in education and scientific research.<\/p>\n<p>Erasmus+ Programme Action 2 will support higher education institutions in going beyond the existing cooperation models in higher education and gradually achieving the long-term ambitious vision of \u201cEuropean Universities\u201d.
