You can vote online for POP Science until 7 January 2020. The purpose of the competition is to honour science communicators. The contest includes three nationwide categories (video blog, blog or website, radio broadcast or podcast) and two categories under the common name \u201cthink globally, act locally\u201d: lecturer and resident of the Silesian Voivodeship.<\/p>\n
POP Science, organised for the first time, is an accompanying event of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE, one of the largest popular science events in Poland, which is led by the University of Silesia in Katowice. The winners will be awarded with statuettes. They will also take part in a discussion.<\/p>\n
The nominees in the \u201cThink globally, act locally\u201d category include lecturers of the University of Silesia in Katowice: Dr. Izabela Mrochen, Prof. Piotr Skuba\u0142a, Dr. Aneta Szczygielska-\u0141aciak, Assoc. Prof. Katarzyna \u015alebarska and Assoc. Prof. Edyta Widawska.<\/p>\n
The podcast \u201eZagraj to jeszcze raz \u2013 radiowa opowie\u015b\u0107 o fenomenie muzyki filmowej\u201d by Magda Mi\u015bka-Jackowska, journalist from RMF Classic who teaches students of the Branch of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn, has also been nominated.<\/p>\n
