These compounds are characterised by interesting anti-cancer properties, because they block the key stage of DNA synthesis, and therefore suspend the replication of cancer cells.<\/p>\n<p>The chemists properly modified the structure of triapine, thanks to which they obtained compounds which can be applied particularly in the therapy of colorectal cancers. The solution has been covered by patent protection.<\/p>\n<p>The authors of the invention are scientists associated with the Faculty of Science and Technology: Prof. Eng. Jaros\u0142aw Pola\u0144ski, Dr Marta Rejmund, Dr Eng. Kamila Gajcy, Dr Monika Pyrkosz-Bulska, Assoc.
