Dr Monika Glosowitz from the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia in Katowice has been nominated for the Pozna\u0144 Literary Award \u2013 Stanis\u0142aw Bara\u0144czak Scholarship for the monograph entitled \u201eMaszynerie afektywne. Literackie strategie emancypacji w najnowszej polskiej poezji kobiet\u201d (Affective machineries. Strategies of emancipation in the new Polish female poetry), published by Wydawnictwo Instytutu Bada\u0144 Literackich at the Polish Academy of Sciences, 2019.<\/p>\n

Monika Glosowitz excellently reconstructed the whole map of writing strategies in the female poetry at the turn of the 20th and 21st century. We will find here a description of a disease (including the relapse formula) based on the example of Joanna Lech, machinery of trauma and shame written through tender reading of Justyna Bargielska, anatomy of \u201cborrowed love\u201d by Marta Podg\u00f3rnik, analysis of \u201caffective work\u201d in late capitalism of Kira Pietrek as well as many other daring reading pieces and interpretations.<\/p>\n
Szymon Wr\u00f3bel, member of the Chapter of Pozna\u0144 Literary Award<\/span><\/p>\n Dr Monika Glosowitz \u2013 literature researcher, literary critic, works at the Institute of Literary Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice. She has published her texts in \u201eCentral Europe\u201d, \u201eCzas Kultury\u201d, \u201e\u015al\u0105skie Studia Polonistyczne\u201d and \u201eTygodnik Powszechny\u201d. She has also translated texts by Michel Foucault, Rosi Braidotti, Sara Ahmed and Luce Irigaray. She defended her doctorate in humanities in the field of literary studies and gender studies<\/em> at the University of Silesia and University of Oviedo.<\/p>\n Pozna\u0144 Literary Award is granted in two categories: lifetime achievement (Adam Mickiewicz Award) and for authors under 35 years of age (Stanis\u0142aw Bara\u0144czak Scholarship). This year\u2019s winner in the first category is poet Krystyna Mi\u0142ob\u0119dzka.
