The \u201cCamerata Silesia\u201d Ensemble of Singers of Katowice and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra musicians under the direction of Anna Szostak-Myrczek, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor, from the Institute of Music was awarded the 2021 Fryderyki Awards in the category of Album of the Year\u2014Choral Music for \u201cPrzez \u0141zy\u201d with pieces by Roman Padlewski and Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa.<\/p>\n
The recording was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport from the Polish Fund for the Promotion of Culture under the \u201cMuzyczny \u015alad\u201d programme by the National Institute of Music and Dance.<\/p>\n
The \u201cCamerata Silesia\u201d Ensemble of Singers<\/a> is Poland\u2019s leading chamber vocal group established in 1990 and conducted by Anna Szostak-Myrczek, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor, from the Institute of Music of the University of Silesia. The Camerata is famous for its excellent renditions of contemporary and early music. Through their renditions, they promote Poland and the City of Katowice at performances in the most prestigious concert halls in Europe and Asia. In 2020, the ensemble received Fryderyk for Album of the Year\u2014Choral Music for \u201cCamerata Silesia Sings Silesian Composers, vol.1.\u201d The ensemble was also nominated to the category The Outstanding Recording of Polish Music<\/p>\n Fryderyk is the most prestigious music award, which has been awarded since 1995 by the Polish music society for the best achievements in the phonographic market in Poland and the winners are chosen in a broad array of music genres, including classical music and jazz. The winners are chosen by over 1500 artists, journalists, and music industry professionals from the Phonographic Academy.
