The results of the preselection for the international poster competition dedicated to Stanislaw Lem – Lemland 2021, in which 333 designers from 26 countries participated, have been announced. The artists submitted 572 posters for the competition. The jury selected the works of 121 people, which included a total of 53 posters for print and 146 posters intended for on-screen display. Stefan Lechwar, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor and \u0141ukasz Kli\u015b, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor were representing the University of Silesia as members of the Preselection Jury.<\/span><\/p>\n

Printed posters will be displayed during the official exhibition at the Dydo Poster Gallery in Krak\u00f3w (ul. Focha 1). Whereas the selected digital competition works will be presented during the 5th Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE, which will take place from 9th to 15th October 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lemland 2021 competition was established on the occasion of the year 2021 being declared the year of Stanis\u0142aw Lem, with the aim to promote the works of the author of “Solaris”. The participants were tasked with making a poster relating directly to the writer, his literature and its numerous adaptations (not only in film), as well as to interesting issues concerning our future.<\/span><\/p>\n

The competition is organised by: Pedagogical University of Krakow, University of Silesia in Katowice, Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE, University of Ostrava, China Europe Design Culture Association (CEIDA), and Dydo Poster Gallery. The project is coordinated by Marcin Urba\u0144czyk, PhD from the Institute of Graphics and Design at the Department of Visual Communication of the Pedagogical University of Krakow, graduate of the University of Silesia.<\/span><\/p>\n
