The Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport awarded Professor Andrzej Szarek from the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science of the University of Silesia in Katowice the bronze medal \u201cMedal for Merit to Culture \u2013 Gloria Artis\u201d. This distinction is awarded to individuals and institutions who have made outstanding contributions to art, cultural activity, or the protection of culture and national heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Andrzej Szarek is involved in sculpture, drawing, happenings, and posters. He has had over 50 solo exhibitions and over 70 happenings and artistic activities. He took part in over 100 group exhibitions both in Poland and abroad. Photographs of selected works can be seen on the website of the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Silesia<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
