The discography of the Katowice \u201cCamerata Silesia\u201d Singers’ Ensemble abounds in numerous recordings appreciated by music lovers for their artistic perfection and musical reverence. The musical director and conductor of the choir is Prof. Anna Szostak-Mryczek from the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science at the University of Silesia in Cieszyn.<\/span><\/p>\n On 24 March 2022, nominations for the next edition of Fryderyk Awards were announced. In the category album of the year – choral music, the album “Words of Mystery. Music for Choir and Cello\u201d recorded by the Katowice \u201cCamerata Silesia\u201d Singers’ Ensemble together with an eminent cellist Marcin Zdunik. The album was released at the beginning of 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n The album “Words of Mystery…” distinguished by the nomination, is not the ensemble\u2019s newest album. At the beginning of 2022, the choir released an album with folk songs arranged by Henryk Miko\u0142aj G\u00f3recki \u2013 \u201eG\u00f3recki: Folk Songs\u201d. Although these works are not among the most famous in the Silesian composer’s oeuvre, they definitely occupy a special place in it.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cCamerata Silesia\u201d is the leading chamber singing group in Poland, formed in 1990. The ensemble is especially valued for its performances of contemporary music, as well as interpretations of early music. The group promotes Poland, including the City of Katowice, during performances in the most prestigious concert halls in Europe and Asia.
