Over 300 people are participating in the pilot edition of Transform4Europe Week in Katowice organised by the University of Silesia. The programme includes debates, workshops, shows, and meetings, as well as the opportunity to get to know the region and socialise \u2013 this is what the participants of this unique event celebrating the T4EU alliance, can expect from 9 to 13 May 2022. Day 4 of the event<\/span><\/h4>\n

The day started with workshops organised as part of the Professional Development Training series. During them, participants learned how to effectively structure team cooperation, how to properly manage their time while working, and how to deal with stress.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the workshop \u201cHow to write the successful research project?\u201d, Mechthild Baumann, PhD, a specialist in the field of EU funding, shared her experience in successfully obtaining grants in European Commission competitions and other funding programmes. The speaker authored several books, in which she explains how to translate the innovativeness of modern scientific research into their applicability.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, the guests could take part in three excursions. In Chorz\u00f3w, they saw the Museum of Metallurgy, and in Sosnowiec, the participants traced the steps of the Jewish community in the Zag\u0142\u0119bie region. In the Silesian Park in Chorz\u00f3w, in addition to taking a cable-car ride, participants visited the Ethnographic Museum housing wooden objects of rural and small-town architecture.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the evening Telmo Fern\u00e1ndez Castro, PhD, Director of the Planetario de Madrid, led an astronomy show entitled “Cosmos ad libitum”. Participants enjoyed the show to the accompaniment of live music. The event took place at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia in Katowice.<\/span><\/p>\n

The visit of Dr Telma Fern\u00e1ndez Castro was made possible thanks to the cooperation of the University of Silesia with the Spanish Embassy in Poland and the Cervantes Institute in Krak\u00f3w.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day culminated with a symphonic concert entitled Kultura Natura in the concert hall of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) as part of the Katowice Kultura Natura Festival. In turn, during the W\u0119giel Film Festival, the participants of the T4EU Week were introduced to the works of film students from all over the world. The event provided an opportunity to exchange views on the presented films.<\/span><\/p>\n
