The admission process to the Doctoral School at the University of Silesia in Katowice started on 13 June 2022. The process are conducted as an international open call for proposals. Within the admission process, we have launched three programmes in the following fields:<\/p>\n

- humanities, theology and the arts,<\/li>\n
- natural sciences, engineering and technology sciences,<\/li>\n
- social sciences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Each candidate shall present their draft for a research plan, their so-far scientific achievements and international experience as well as recommendations given by two academics or scientific employees \u2013 their future supervisor or auxiliary supervisor and another researcher they have worked with. The entire admission process is best described via the following milestones:<\/p>\n

- Register and send all documents to the Online Application System<\/a><\/li>\n

Number of places<\/h3>\n
The admission limit of the Doctoral School is 75 people. People who meet the substantive and formal requirements receive a doctoral scholarship and will start carrying out their research at the University of Silesia on 1 October 2022.<\/p>\n
The number of places for particular fields:<\/p>\n
- \n
- humanities, theology and the arts \u2014 25 places;<\/li>\n
- natural sciences, and engineering and technology sciences \u2014 25 places;<\/li>\n
- social sciences \u2014 25 places.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
At the request of the admission committee, the Rector may agree to admit more people.<\/p>\n
The admission process via the new Online Application System<\/a>\u00a0will be open from 13 to 24 June 2022.<\/p>\n
Candidates who have not yet defended their thesis by the time of the exam can still take part in the admission process \u2013 the deadline for submitting the diploma is 13 September 2022.<\/p>\n
