So far, the Scientific Premiere Stage of the University of Silesia counts two seasons, 23 meetings, and 29 guests; the event introduces interesting publications, compelling films, ground-breaking research but above all an enormous passion and love for science and art of the scientists invited to the studio. From November 2020, where the first episode of the Scientific Premier Stage took place, we have learnt a lot and we have been increasing the technical level of the series.<\/p>\n
From the very beginning, we wanted to promote and share the current achievements in all disciplines at the University of Silesia. In the studio, we have met with researchers, publication authors, people organising inspiring activities and creators of scientific projects from our University.<\/p>\n
All that is done within the idea that it is good to talk and hear about science \u2013 even if the subject matter seems to be extremely complicated. The combination of our scientists’ passion and experience with the charisma of science communicators was to entertain and discover new worlds we often have not known about<\/p>\n
Did we succeed? May the already presented numbers and the fact that the show has not and does not plan to disappear from our plans be the answer to that. Stay with us!<\/p>\n

The 1st episode of the Scientific Premiere Stage took place on 19 November 2020 in the caf\u00e9 and bookstore \u201cMiejscownik\u201d in Katowice. Our guest was Prof. Jan Kisiel, a nuclear physicist from the Faculty of Science and Technology. He talked about ground-breaking research on anti-matter, which got on the cover of the \u201cNature\u201d journal.<\/p>\n

Aleksandra Ha\u0142at, PhD, from the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science, a pianist, told us about discovering the works of the famous composer Karol Rathaus. We also listened to the concert by the Karol Rathaus Ensemble. Challenging questions revolving around the pandemic reality were answered by Marcin Moro\u0144, PhD, a co-author (with Magdalena Biolok-Moro\u0144 \u2013 a PhD student of the Faculty of Theology) of the article entitled Trait emotional intelligence and emotional experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in Poland:<\/em> A daily diary study<\/em> published in the \u201cPersonality and Individual Differences\u201d journal.<\/p>\n \n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n \n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Prof. Magdalena Rost-Roszkowska” tab_id=”1656590515145-1fb9b2c5-70dd”]\r\n The topic of the 7th episode was stem cells and their influence on the processes taking place in living organisms. We hosted Prof. Katarzyna Kraso\u0144 from the Faculty of Social Sciences, an author of the book Padawanics.<\/em> The Force Awakens in mediated experience.<\/em> A study on film, education and developmental support<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n \n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Milena Dutkowska” tab_id=”1656591011279-b0d895cf-49f1″]\r\n The 9th edition of the Scientific Premiere Stage was a return to the world of the 10th Muse. Together with a director and stage designer, Milena Dutkowska, a graduate of Krzysztof Kie\u015blowski Film School at the University of Silesia and the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, we pondered how in the face of a tragedy one may find strength become a hero.
