These are vitreous materials for near infrared laser applications. These transparent materials with a pink tint emit intense radiation in the mid-infrared range. These materials show very promising optical properties, and as such they are considered as solutions used in laser technology. Their advantage is a fairly easy production method, thanks to which it is possible to obtain materials with a higher concentration of optically active compounds. What is more, they are obtained in a much shorter time than in the case of, for example, currently used laser single crystals.
