Dariusz Ignatiuk, PhD<\/a>\u00a0from the Faculty of Natural Sciences<\/a>\u00a0was chosen the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the international consortium Svalbard Integrated Arctic Earth Observing System (SIOS). The decision was adopted during the General Assembly, which took place on 30 October 2023 during Svalbard Science Conference, Oslo.<\/p>\n

Svalbard Integrated Arctic Earth Observing System (SIOS) is an international consortium of currently 28 member institutions from 10 countries, which develops and maintains a regional observing system in Svalbard and surrounding waters. The consortium focuses primarily on sharing FAIR data and decreasing carbon footprint when carrying out research in the Arctic.<\/p>\n
