The event is part of the European City of Science programme, which will last throughout 2024.

Even though today it may seem impossible, there once was a country in Europe where three cultures and the three largest religions: Islam, Judaism, and Christianity co-existed together. Which country was it? It was Spain under the rule of Alfonso X of Castile whose approach to science, religion, and culture differed completely from the commonly adopted one at the time. This 13th-century Christian king was a supporter of religious tolerance and propagation of Jewish knowledge and Arabic scholars, while the capital of his country, Toledo, was one of the most important cities in Europe when it came to science. Today, we would like to come back to this state of affairs in Katowice – the European City of Science 2024. This is why we propose this extraordinary Three Cultures Week, during which you will be able to:

tour the Centre of Culture and Dialogue ‘Doha’;

get an original henna tattoo done;

learn the basics of Arabic and Hebrew;

taste the incredible Moroccan tea;

enjoy a concert by an evangelical choir and a bandura performance;

view interesting exhibitions, listen to fascinating lectures, and take part in thought-provoking debates.

We will show you that different cultures can not only co-exist but also intertwine and enrich each other. Three Cultures Week will prove that science and culture go well together and work towards a more peaceful world.

The programme might be changed!

[vc_btn title=”Event on Facebook” color=”black” size=”lg” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fevents%2F404217571957822|target:_blank”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”179590″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/4vPEitKsCI0?feature=shared”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row disable_element=”yes”][vc_column width=”2/3″ offset=”vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs”][vc_separator]

Podcast

[Miejsce na krótki opis i link do podcastu]

[vc_separator][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row disable_element=”yes”][vc_column width=”2/3″ offset=”vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs”]

Badania naukowe

[Miejsce na opis i podlinkowanie do tekstu AKP.
