The event is part of the European City of Science programme, which will last throughout 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The name alone \u2013 European City of Science \u2013 pushes us toward the topic of the city and to ask some important questions. First and foremost, those fundamental questions, such as: who is the city for? What is the city for? What should it be like?<\/p>\n<p>During the week, there will be a scientific panel organised by the Observatory of Urban and Metropolitan Processes headed by Robert Pyka, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. Researchers taking part in the event come from both Poland and abroad.<\/p>\n<p>A debate by city activists called \u2018How to fix the city from the bottom up\u2019 is also planned. Adrian Chor\u0119ba\u0142, Head of Rondo Sztuki, will ask his guests how residents can influence life in the city.<\/p>\n<p>We will also discuss the community during the debate \u2018Community. Residents. Metropolis\u2019. We want to ask artists, scientists and local politicians whether, as residents of the cities of the Upper Silesian conurbation, we create a metropolitan community.<\/p>\n<p>We will also show and observe the city&#8217;s emotions during artistic events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Offered events:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Meetings for secondary school students called \u2018How does the city work\u2019?;<\/li>\n<li>Author&#8217;s meeting regarding the book <em>\u2018Mieszkanie kawalera. It has been organised continuously since 2010 and its aim is to sensitise the designer community to broad social and environmental needs and challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The planned Festival is addressed mainly to researchers and designers of digital services and products (UX), but also people from the world of business, public institutions, non-governmental organizations and residents of the Metropolis GZM.<\/p>\n<p>The Festival will feature nearly 30 people, including: <strong>Lene Rachel Andersen <\/strong>(member of the Club of Rome); <strong>Micha\u0142 Krzykawski, PhD, DLitt<\/strong> (University of Silesia); <strong>Miros\u0142aw Pir\u00f3g, PhD, DLitt <\/strong>(University of Silesia);<strong> Anna Cieplak<\/strong>; <strong>Magda Kochanowska, PhD, DLitt <\/strong>(Design Nurture); <strong>Mateusz Hohol, PhD, DLitt <\/strong>(Copernicus Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Jagiellonian University) and <strong>Pawe\u0142 Wyszomirski<\/strong> (Napraw Sobie Miasto Foundation).<\/p>\n<p>Participation in the event is free of charge, but due to the limited number of places for selected events, prior registration is required. However, participation in the event is not determined by the order of applications, but by the argumentation for candidacy. He released songs and EPs on labels such as Transatlantyk, super, Flauta and Club in Theory and in January 2024 &#8211; Discos Extendes. Since 2017, he has been co-creating the Krajobrazy ambient duo and co-organizing a series of events in various places in Poland, ranging from city parks, chillout spaces, to clubs. The intention of Spool is to generate an atmosphere of love, compassion, connection and peace. Each performance serves both the audience and the performers as a synergistic event, giving space to breathe and bring calm. Angel Paradise works as an artist and perfumer. Her work focuses on honouring the wisdom of plants and exploring the benefits of exchange between humans and nature. She is also a certified aromatherapist. Mimmi, Jakub&#8217;s cousin, reveals that the businessman Reszka wants to demolish the suburbs and cut down trees to build skyscrapers in their place. Together with Wojciech Wilk, she co-founded the Teufelsberg duo. In 2021, the band released an EP titled \u2018Uncomfortably Close\u2019 by the Katowice label SKAN Records. She often collaborates with artists such as Piotr Kali\u0144ski (Hatti Vatti , Nanook of The North) and Olgierd Dokalski (kIRk). She composes and produces music for art installations and short films. Her debut EP \u2018Thrills\u2019 will be released in March by Kanu Kanu Recordings. Her solo interests include genres such as early music, minimalism, ambient and avant-garde. She seamlessly combines electronic elements with the sound of acoustic instruments, zither and cello, creating vast, nostalgic soundscapes.
