The first one, devoted to the topic of science and education as the main instrument of regional transformation, based on the example of Silesia, will be led by Prof. Tomasz Pietrzykowski, Vice-Rector for International and Domestic Cooperation of the University of Silesia.<\/p>\n<p>The person conducting the second meeting entitled \u2018How to win against populists? \u2013 young voters and the future of democracy\u2019 will be \u0141ukasz Kohut, Member of the European Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>During the opening, Prof. Iwona Jelonekan from the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia, councillor of the Silesian Voivodeship Assembly, will deliver the inaugural lecture \u2018We are greening the coal heart of Europe\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The visit will also be the opportunity to present the <a href=\"https:\/\/transform4europe.eu\/transform4europe-in-brussels\/\">work carried out by the European University Transform4Europe<\/a>, an international alliance of ten universities, of which the University of Silesia in Katowice is a member.<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div>\r\n                    <\/div>\r\n                <\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1708602667857{margin-top: 34px !important;padding-top: 24px !important;padding-right: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;padding-left: 24px !important;background-color: #f2f2f2 !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 1em;\">\n<p><strong>During the official opening of the visit, speeches will be given by:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>representative of the Minister of Science and Higher Education,<\/li>\n<li>representative of the Mayor of Katowice,<\/li>\n<li>Kazimierz Karolczak \u2013 Chair of the Metropolis GZM,<\/li>\n<li>Ewelina W\u00f3jcik \u2013 Director of the Regional Office of the Silesian Voivodeship in Brussels,<\/li>\n<li>Ryszard Kozio\u0142ek \u2013 Rector of the University of Silesia, Vice-Chair of the Conference of Rectors of Universities in Poland,<\/li>\n<li>Eng.
