The event is part of the European City of Science programme, which will last throughout 2024.<\/p>\n Virus week is a time to fight with the the problem of flagrant virus disinformation knows as the so-called infodemic. In the face of frequent dissemination of fake news, which travel with light speed, and the increasing influence of anti-vaccination movements, taking proper action with regard to health education is becoming more and more crucial. Our goal is to promote prophylaxis and raise awareness of the importance of a healthy life style. Starting with proper nutrition, through stress control, to vaccinations \u2013 we want to show how important are those things for our health.<\/p>\n At Virus Week, there will be many fascinating lectures, and the participants will have the opportunity to learn a great deal about the secrets of microbiology and take part in vaccination promotional activities. However, we shouldn\u2019t forget to have fun! We are pleased to invite you to the unique opportunity to take part in the race organized as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024. The motto is \u2018I’m running for health, according to 7 rules on how to live to avoid viruses\u2019!<\/p>\n The run will take place virtually: “everyone runs, walks or walks with poles wherever they can” at a distance of their choice: 3, 7 or 10 km. Our goal is, among other things, to promote physical activity, healthy eating and broadly understood prevention.<\/p>\n The aim of the campaign is to promote 7 rules on how to live to avoid viruses, including the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, encouraging physical activity and cancer prevention.\u00a0Part of the funds collected from entry fees will be donated to the preventive activities of the Oko w Oko z Rakiem Foundation!<\/strong><\/p>\n PRIZE<\/strong><\/p>\n Each participant who provides their shipping details will receive a unique commemorative medal! The aim of the \u2018Viruses in Our Lives\u2019 Conference is to familiarize people with topics related to viruses. Renowned professors, epidemiologists and infectious disease specialists will answer important questions about the risk of another pandemic, the laws governing viruses, the impact of stress on susceptibility to infections, and practical issues related to flu and vaccinations for children.\u00a0 Our foreign guest, Professor Didier Raoult, recognized by the journal Nature as one of the 10 most influential scientists in the field of infectious diseases, will help us unravel the truth and myths about vaccinations. By spreading scientific knowledge, we want to fight the widespread infodemic, i.e. the abundance of false information regarding viral diseases, and thus reduce the level of social anxiety related to viruses by promoting effective prevention methods.<\/p>\n\n
