On Thursday, 13 June 2024, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education hosted a gala for awarding Education Excellence Certificates of the Polish Accreditation Committee with the participation of Minister Dariusz Wieczorek.<\/p>\n
During the ceremony, the \u2018Excellent Degree Programme \u2212 excellence in providing education as part of a degree programme\u2019 certificates were received by the degree programme directors \u2212 Aleksandra Nadg\u00f3rska-Socha, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof. from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Agata Zygmunt-Ziemianek, PhD from the Faculty of Social Sciences \u2212 on behalf of the university authorities. Certificates were awarded to the Environmental Protection and Sociology degree programmes \u2212 they were among the elite group of 26 degree programmes recognised in this year\u2019s fourth edition of certificates.<\/p>\n
The Polish Accreditation Committee awards Education Excellence Certificates to promote the highest quality of education. The basis for awarding the Certificate is a positive programme evaluation for six years, supported by good practices in the quality of education or documented, regular achievements of students and graduates. The application for awarding a degree programme with a Certificate is submitted by the chairs of teams operating in the fields of science and art, based on the recommendations contained in the team\u2019s opinions.<\/p>\n
Polish Accreditation Committee awards Certificates in four categories:
\n\u2022 Excellent Degree Programme \u2212 excellence in providing education as part of a degree programme;
\n\u2022 Always for the student \u2212 excellence in supporting student development;
\n\u2022 Open to the world \u2212 excellence in international cooperation;
\n\u2022 Partner for development \u2212 excellence in cooperation with the socio-economic environment.<\/p>\n
Units that run degree programmes awarded with a Certificate by the Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee implement effective, innovative and exemplary solutions that promote the quality of education. In particular, they are characterised by:
\n\u2022 effectiveness \u2013 the ability to achieve goals in improving the quality of education,
\n\u2022 universality \u2013 the possibility of transferability to other universities,
\n\u2022 innovativeness \u2013 an innovative approach to improving the quality of education,
\n\u2022 exemplary nature \u2013 the ability to be a reference point,
\n\u2022 ethicality \u2013 compliance with ethical standards and principles of social responsibility,
\n\u2022 stability – repeatability and unchanging impact on improving the quality of education.<\/p>\n
