The rail traffic through Katowice will be maintained, but some trains will have different or shortened routes. Its major premise is to divide the regional from the intercity flow, thanks to the construction of new tracks on the stretch from B\u0119dzin to Katowice. Consequently, this will increase the railway capacity in the Silesian Voivodeship, in terms of both freight and passenger trains, which in turn will allow for the creation of new train connections and facilitate access to trains.<\/p>\n<p>The project involves creating five new stops at\u00a0<strong>Sosnowiec \u015arodula, Katowice Morawa, Katowice Uniwersytet, Katowice Akademia<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Katowice Kokociniec<\/strong>. This will be possible thanks to the replacement of approx. 130 km of tracks and 175 km of overhead contact line. The modernisation of railway E65 along the sections B\u0119dzin \u2013 Katowice Piotrowice, Tychy \u2013 most Wis\u0142a (Gocza\u0142kowice) and Zabrzeg \u2013 Zebrzydowice will take approximately four years.
