On 28 January 2025, the Ambassador of the Republic of France to the Republic of Poland Etienne de Poncis visited the University of Silesia and met with Prof. Ryszard Kozio\u0142ek, Rector of the University of Silesia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The meeting aimed to discuss the possibilities for cooperation between the University and the Alliance Fran\u00e7aise, a prestigious organisation whose strategic objective is to promote the French language and culture.<\/p>\n

The French diplomat also received a report by representatives of French studies testifying to the great interest of candidates for studies in this field and in learning the language. It was emphasised that knowledge of the language is an important asset, distinguishing graduates in the labour market.<\/p>\n

The Ambassador attended the meeting in the company of diplomatic corps members: Cedric Peltier, Consul General of France in Krak\u00f3w and Audelin Chapuis, Director of the French Institute in Krak\u00f3w.<\/p>\n

The University of Silesia represented: Prof. Adam Dziadek, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia, Andrzej Rabsztyn, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof., Degree Programme Director: French Studies, Spanish Studies, Romance Studies, Italian Studies, and Renata Jankowska, PhD, Assoc. Prof., Degree Programme Director: Political and Public Counselling, Political Science, National and International Security, and International Studies in Political Science and Diplomacy.<\/p>\n

The University of Silesia is a member of the Association of Francophone Universities (AUF) and will host the general assembly of the alliance\u2019s member universities in 2026.<\/p>\n
