The short film Dad\u2019s Not Home<\/em> directed by Jan Saczek won gold in the Narrative category at the 52nd Student Academy Awards in New York. This was the first time that filmmakers from the Krzysztof Kie\u015blowski Film School at the University of Silesia were presented with this prestigious award, which often paves the way to the \u201cadult\u201d Oscars.<\/p>\n

Last year, during the 51st edition of the competition, the film Take Me To Her<\/em> by Bart\u0142omiej B\u0142aszczy\u0144ski made it to the finals although it was not awarded in the end. This time, USil Film School students reached for the main trophy.<\/p>\n

The awards ceremony took place on 6 October in New York and was broadcast live on YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n
