Mariola Paruzel-Czachura, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof. from the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Piotr Olechowski, PhD from the Faculty of Humanities are among the winners of the 25th edition of the POLITYKA Science Awards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This unique distinction is awarded to young researchers whose scientific careers are dynamically developing and whose achievements are already having a significant impact on the progress of Polish science.<\/p>\n

Prof. Mariola Paruzel-Czachura<\/a>\u00a0was awarded in the field of social sciences. Her work focuses on the field of moral psychology, examining, among other things, the relationships between morality and personality, as well as violence, and culture. Her interests also include experimental psychology, aesthetics, and open science. Her work and science communication activities in the area of \u200b\u200bresearch ethics and scientific integrity are widely appreciated in the academic community.<\/p>\n

Piotr Olechowski, PhD<\/a>\u00a0was the winner in the field of humanities. His research focuses on the history of Poles in the USSR, the processes of Sovietisation of the former lands of the Second Polish Republic, as well as the activities of the secret services and the Soviet judiciary. He passionately documents the fate of the Polish population in the Borderlands, discovering previously unknown threads of 20th-century history.<\/p>\n

The POLITYKA Science Awards have been presented since 2001. Their mission is to support and promote the most talented young scientists in Poland who combine a passion for research with the courage of thought and social responsibility.<\/p>\n
