Our university achieved high rankings in key categories and advanced in the ranking positions of the degree programmes it offers.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Silesia\u2019s most significant achievements in general categories (in the classical university rankings):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8th place (up from 9th) in the <em>Internationalisation <\/em>category;<\/li>\n<li>8th place (no change) in the <em>Reputation<\/em> category.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The University has recorded high rankings among classical universities in the categories of <em>Innovation <\/em>(4th place, down two spots compared with 2025) and <em>Research Potential<\/em>\u00a0(7th place, down two spots).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Degree Programme Rankings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this year\u2019s ranking, the degree programmes offered by the University of Silesia were highly rated compared with all universities in Poland. The highest-ranked degree programmes offered by the University of Silesia are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Geology \u2013 4th place (no change);<\/li>\n<li>Geography \u2013 4th place (up from 5th);<\/li>\n<li>Journalism and Social Communication \u2013 5th place (up from 7th);<\/li>\n<li>Polish Studies \u2013 6th place (no change);<\/li>\n<li>Foreign Languages (excluding English) and Linguistics \u2013 joint 6th place (up from 7th);<\/li>\n<li>Physics \u2013 6th place (up from 7th);<\/li>\n<li>Education \u2013 joint 6th place (up from 11th);<\/li>\n<li>Special Education \u2013 joint 7th place (up from 10th);<\/li>\n<li>National and International Security \u2013 joint 7th place (no change).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Compared with 2025, the following courses advanced as well:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administration \u2013 up four places (to 8th place);<\/li>\n<li>Biology \u2013 up one place (to joint 8th place);<\/li>\n<li>English Studies \u2013 up one place (to joint 8th place);<\/li>\n<li>Sociology \u2013 up one place (to 9th place);<\/li>\n<li>Tourism \u2013 up one place (to joint 9th place);<\/li>\n<li>Biomedical Engineering \u2013 up two places (to 10th place);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other degree programmes in the top ten in Poland:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cultural Studies (8th place);<\/li>\n<li>Theology (8th place);<\/li>\n<li>Biotechnology (9th place);<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Protection (9th place);<\/li>\n<li>Political Science (joint 9th place);<\/li>\n<li>Psychology (10th place).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ranking of Natural and Technical Sciences<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The science degree programmes offered by the University of Silesia in <em>Biology, Biotechnology, Geography, Geology<\/em> and <em>Environmental Protection<\/em> have been ranked among the top ten degree programmes in the country.<\/p>\n<p>It is also worth noting that the University of Silesia was 1st among classical universities in the following technical fields:<em> Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering and Mechatronics<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Detailed results by ranking category<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Research potential<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University of Silesia moved up one place to joint 14th in the overall rankings for this category. This is the result of very strong performance in key areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic staff with highest qualifications \u2013 moving up to 6th place in the overall rankings.<\/li>\n<li>Rights to confer PhD degrees and post-doctoral degrees \u2013 maintaining strong 4th place among classical universities and in the overall ranking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Academic Reputation<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University of Silesia maintained its 8th position among classical universities in the <em>Academic Reputation<\/em> category, repeating last year&#8217;s result However, we have seen a significant rise in the overall ranking among all universities \u2013 from 19th to 13th place.
