T4EU WEEK
REGION TOURS
The historic Nikiszowiec district in Katowice,
the Guido Mine in Zabrze, the Silesian Park in Chorzów
10 May 2022, KATOWICE
Participants of Transform4Europe Week taking place in Katowice had the opportunity to take part in excursions promoting the region. One of the places of interest was the historic Nikiszowiec district, which is an example of the heritage of mining culture. The branch of the Museum of Katowice History located there presents the interior of a traditional miner’s flat, a laundry room, and a mangle. Visitors also toured the Guido Mine in Zabrze, a 19th century inactive coal mine. The guests also went to the Silesian Park in Chorzów, where a cable car ride and a visit to the Ethnographic Museum housing nearly 70 historic wooden objects of rural and small-town architecture awaited them.
