The concept of open science is in line with the assumptions of the Research Excellence Initiative. Therefore, we have launched a new popular science series called \u201cHorizons\u201d, which promotes research and interdisciplinary achievements of international teams conducting research within the Research Excellence Initiative calls for proposals: Green Horizon, Post-COVID Horizon.<\/p>\n

The said calls for proposals were addressed to interdisciplinary research teams focused on ecology, climate protection as well as functioning and development of the society facing the coronavirus pandemic. Altogether 10 projects received the funding, and the leaders of those projects represent natural and exact sciences, humanities, theology, law, and social sciences. The scientists received financial support of a total of more than PLN 1,100,000.<\/p>\n
