The Transmission Electron Microscopy Laboratory (L-TME) is accredited by the Polish Center for Accreditation (PCA) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) (accreditation no. AB1332) for structural studies carring out using transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

Research Capabilities

The accredited Transmission Electron Microscopy Laboratory offers materials research at the micro and nano scale. It performs a broad range of microscopic examinations of microstructure in the bright and dark fields of structural materials, metallic materials, metal alloys, composites, and ceramics. Phase identification studies using electron diffraction are also conducted.

The microscope allows for obtaining images with a resolution of 1.4 Å, enabling detailed studies of the relative atomic arrangement of the tested material and its defect structure.

In our research, we utilize techniques such as electron beam precession (PED) and high-resolution electron microscopy (HREM), with the ability to determine the chemical composition in nanoscale regions (EDS).

In situ structural studies can also be performed at low temperatures (from liquid nitrogen to 100°C using a transmission electron microscope).

Applications (materials)

In studies of all groups of engineering materials (metals, alloys, ceramics, polymers, composites). In biological and geological research.

Specific study (samples)

TEM studies primarily use thin films obtained by mechanical, electrolytic, and ion polishing methods.

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Equipment” tab_id=”1645113822678-51a69647-60ce”]

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Contact” tab_id=”1645114857460-4a308e45-b163″]
