In the laboratory, measurements of positron lifetime in solid materials in solid or powdered form are conducted. Research can be carried out at a wide range of temperatures from 173 K to 573 K and in high vacuum reaching 10⁻⁶ bar. The measurement results provide information on the size and distribution of free volume in polymers, as well as the pore size in microporous materials within the range of rh ≈ 1.5 Å to rh ≈ 100 Å. The research technique also enables the characterization of defect structures, including the detection of crystalline structure defects in metallic materials. The laboratory is also equipped with a scanner for measuring α, β, γ and X-ray radiation levels.

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Equipment” tab_id=”1645113822678-51a69647-60ce”]
