In 2007 he received his PhD, and in 2018 he became Associate Professor. His research focuses on English grammar, which he analyses from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. Basing on the theoretical assumptions provided by e.g. Cognitive Grammar or the theory of image schemas, he points to certain abstract, conceptual structures recurrent in grammatical constructions or parallelisms between grammar and perceptual experience. This standpoint can be found both in his monograph (2017) and numerous papers, which deal with such issues as countability and uncountability of English nouns or particular English temporal and aspectual constructions. His area of interest is also figurative language: metaphor and metonymy, which are the topic of several of his publications. In his works, he also deals with the problem of applying theoretical cognitive assumptions in the sphere of English language pedagogy.

Selected publications:

2020 New insights into English count and mass nouns – the Cognitive Grammar perspective.
